Praise the LORD! We are back to report to you on the marathon of events that the Lord has effected through this ministry over the past months.  As you are aware, we had our first year anniversary in December 2008!! (Happy one year Cornerstone Ministries!!).    We are developing and maturing as a ministry.  And we believe God for both growth and expansion before we celebrate our second anniversary in December 2009.

Looking back at the blessed and wonderful things that the LORD has wrought through this ministry from November 2008 to now, there won’t be enough space to narrate everything on this site.  But however, we have outline those events that we believe could exult you and motivate your faith in our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

One of the major events we had in November 2008 was our Children's Thanksgiving Service.  This special service was an opportunity for the children of the Rock Church to participate and contribute to the Sunday service.  The Children’s Pastor and her team did an excellent job to prepare all the children for this joyous day.  It was amazing to see how these little ones are good at imitating adults.  It was also a lesson for adults and parents alike to be aware that the children are always watching to practice from their examples.

In December 2008, we also held our “Gathering of Champions Crusade” with the theme: “Taking Over on Eagle’s Wings.”  We were privileged to be blessed by Apostle Ulysses Tuff and Mrs. Deborah Tuff from The Way, the Truth and the Life Christian Center, Georgia, USA and Evangelist and Mrs. Silas Anoruo from Silas Anoruo Ministries, Nigeria. With these two great men of God ministering, the crusade attracted people from every neighborhood within the Lumley community and beyond.  The power of God moved so mightily that people received their healing, breakthrough and deliverance during the eight days of program.  However, above all, there was nothing compared to the hundreds of people who came forward to receive Jesus Christ for the first time.  Moslems became converted and those who have strayed from the Lord restored their relationships with Christ again.  It was a very moving and power pack program which provided an in depth teaching and understanding of Scriptures during the morning session through the School of Champions.  The four days school of Champions also attracted scores of people and was climax on the fifth day with a women’s conference conducted by Pastor Mrs. Deborah Tuff from the USA.  So many miracles were reported from the day of the crusade to the end.  We have recorded some that we believe will be a blessing to you (see Testimonies page) along with a photographic highlight (see our Photo book).  

The New Year has already started to pour blessings of harvests in this ministry for our labor of love.  January 2009, in a mode of faith to receive our anticipated growth and expansion, our Overseer and Senior Pastor, Rev. Emeric Webber took the step of faith by appending two important elements to the church: A Planning Committee was established and a second service was introduced (see Services page for details).  The greatest events of January 2009, were the baptism of more than 20 new souls into Jesus Christ and our Senior Pastors’ appreciation service which gave us the congregation the opportunity to show our appreciation to our Senior Pastors with our substances.  

The month of February was a very blessed month for the Rock Church.  We had a five day revival with Evangelist C. K. Dagadu a guest preacher from Liberia.  The theme of the revival was “The God of My Dawning”. He preached on the topic “Giving to Receive Your Breakthrough” using the 1Kings 17:8-16 and 2kings 4:1-7.  The atmosphere throughout the revival was saturated with the anointing and the presence of the LORD.  Many people received their breakthrough and above all, a large number of people received Christ during the revival and are now being prepared for water baptism in the coming weeks.

Another good news coming from the Church Leadership is the plan to buy a parcel of land for the construction of the Church building.  A parcel of land has been spotted and some payments have been made towards the purchase of the land and it is hoped all the payments would be completed soon.  A Building Construction Project and other fund raising drives are expected to be launched in the Church soon.  We pray that the Spirit of the Lord will lead you in contributing to this worthy cause at Cornerstone Ministries.
